Imagine God
When I imagine God, the first thing I picture is His beautiful, strong face. I see his tender eyes on me. I see Him as my perfect Father, who will never stop…
💛loving me
💛being good to me
💛fighting for me
💛teaching me
💛disciplining me
💛championing me
💛holding me
💛protecting me
💛convicting me
💛forgiving me
💛redeeming me
💛calming me
💛providing for me
💛surprising me
💛coming for me.
And I know that may sound really lovely and right and spiritual. And it is, to be honest. But what I also know is that to see Him as anything contrary would be to deny my own experience of God. I’ve walked some deep, dark valleys ... from nearly losing my husband as I watched him lie lifeless for eighteen days in an ICU room, to battling the monster of anxiety in my youngest for the last six years.
I’ve had many breath-taking mountaintops and a whole lot of mundane too.
And one thing has remained: He’s a good, good Father.
